Colorize

Original_Color_Labeled

All of the images on this page are available for non-commercial, educational purposes. (Actually - this is encouraged) Under each image there is a link that will take you to the Original image with its micron bar and magnification. The Color link will take you to a colorized example of this image, while Labeled will be colorized with the micron bar and magnification. All images are in a compressed or JPEG format. To the left of a row of images are links that will connect you to information about these images. Further information on these images can be found on the Project and VTSEM Web sites.

You will need a copy of NIH Image software for the Macintosh files and Scion Image software for the Windows files. Both software applications can be obtained at the Center for Image Processing for Educators : CIPE . It will be necessary to convert the images from their JPEG (compressed) format to a TIFF format to use in NIH Image or Scion Image. Graphics programs that can do this are probably already on your computer - or you can download a freeware example on the WEB. You can also obtain Image/J software from this same site. This Internet software allows you to use a number of image formats, including JPEG.
