The Biology Wing of the Phelps Science Building consists of five classrooms surrounding an open laboratory area. Each classroom contains a discussion area centered around a Harkness table along with laboratory facilities for that particular classroom.

The classroom we are looking at is the one shown in the lower right hand side of the diagram. The door in the center leads out to the main corridor, while the door on the far left goes into the open laboratory area. Just appearing in the top middle view is an LCD projector that is facing toward the classroom area. However, there is a handle on the projector that allows it to be turned to the right so that laboratory microscopic and macroscopic images can be shown.

The panoramic view that is shown above is of the open laboratory area. When you go from left to right you are moving from the inner corridor to the outside wall. The door that is right of center leads into the classromm that was mentioned in the above description. To get this view you are standing where the X is marked on the diagram. You are standing immediately in front of the walk-in cold room. On the left is a refrigerated sea water tank. Specimens collected at the shore can be deposited in here and subsequently examined. Moving toward the right there are two incubation ovens immediately in front of the fume hoods. There is an LCD projector hanging down from the ceiling in the middle of the room. On the far right are eight iMac computer stations that are connected to the internet. Around the corner is the entrance to the second biology room.
