| The rock shown below sits on a fine volcanic ash field. (Footprints are apparent behind the rock) Bartolome has the remains of several volcanic cones. Around the cones are extensive tephra deposits of various sizes. This give the landscape -- except for the occasional lava cactus -- a very stark appearance. |
