| PEA set out
to avenge an early season loss to visiting NMH. We played hard |
| throughout
the match against a determined NMH squad. Poor serve receive in |
| the first
game left us with few good attacks. The second game looked brighter, |
| sparked by
the serving of Kiki Fonge and Cindy Teng. Serve receive also looked |
| better,
allowing our hitters to get involved. The third game was the most exciting |
| of the day,
as the lead went back and forth several times. With the score tied |
| at 29, Lucy
Abell made a tremendous save, bumping the ball over from about |
| 15 feet
beyond the end line. She then served one winner to take the game 31-29. |
| While there
were bright points in the fourth game, an 8 point NMH run was too |
| much to
overcome. We were ready for the deciding game, however, and serving |
| runs by Kate
Kelly and Kiki Fonge gave us the decisive lead. On the day, the |
| setters did a
great job of distributing the ball, involving all the hitters. Abby |
| Wakefield had
a big day blocking in the middle. We'd also like to thank the |
| vocal parents'
weekend crowd for cheering us along to victory. |
