Always true to its billing as a big game, this was an exciting match against rival
Andover. Undefeated Andover came out strong and served up the first seven points
of the match. Our passes were good, as they were the whole day, but we couldn't
get the attacks we needed. We played the remainder of the first game roughly
even. The second game was probably our best this year. We sided out easily,
worked hard to find holes in the Andover defense, and shut down their offense.
After falling behind 7-14 in the third game, Soo Roh scored seven straight on
her serve. Andover regained their composure and took a 23-28 lead when Soo
came back to the service line. She put away 6 more points, but Andover capitalized
when she missed the next serve and took the game 29-31. Deflated by the close
loss, we didn't have much left for the fourth game. Everything we had been doing
so well suddenly left us. Troubled by miscommunication, the passes were poor,
leading to poor sets and hits either into the block or into the net. After playing such
a terrific match for three games, it was a disappointing way to finish.
