Despite giving up a seven point serving run early to put us at a 5-12 disadvantage,
Big Red played confidently through the first game. We fought back from the deficit
and eventually took the lead on Cindy Teng's five point streak. Cindy gave us a
comfortable lead in the second game, as well, with a nine point service run. St.
Pauls came back, taking advantage of some poor Exeter passing. Down 28-26
late in the game, we pulled together and played solid volleyball. Thanks to two
St. Pauls missed serves, we came away with a 33-31 victory. More hitting errors
plagued our third game, but we held out, thanks to a seven point service run by
Kate Kelly. It's hard to come away with a win on a day when we have more
hitting errors than kills. Fortunately, the defense kept the ball off the floor and
serving was strong.
